Castlewood House

Toured Ireland last month and stayed in nearly 10 different hotels and B&B's. Looking back, Castlewood was at the top of the list in terms of value and overall experience. The property is located on the bay, about 10-15min walk from the center. Close enough to all the activities, but far enough away from all the hustle-bustle. The proprietor is clearly an experienced hotelier/inn-keeper, as the inner-working was efficient and unobtrusive. I had a lovely Queen Superior room with the bay view. Very spacious for a single person. I especially liked that it had windows on both sides of the room - one facing the bay, and the other facing the backyard. Leaving them open before going out in the morning, I returned at the evening to a super fresh and cool room. Bathroom is all-white with both a shower and a jetted tub, perfect for soaking those tired muscles at the end of long sightseeing days. Breakfast is definitely not to be missed. I'll let some photos do the talking :) And the laundry service was excellent - cool wash, cool dry, all at a very reasonable price. Wish I could have stayed longer but had many miles to go on the trip!

We have been to different hotels and B&Bs, this house is in the top of our list. My son would definitely mention to return to this house again and again.. he will not say "go to hotel" anymore.. compared to 5 stars hotels this house surpassed all our expectations. Good view/place, superb room, delicious food and of course,the lovely hospitable people make this place memorable. 😊 A wonderful holiday it was, will recommend this place and will definitely be back again!
